It’s time for the bases to decide
the direction of the movement

OUT BOLSONARO!

The acts of October 2nd made it clear: the national movement for “Out Bolsonaro” needs to undergo a radical change. Who’s taking to the streets to fight is forced to draw that conclusion. This is because some sectors within the movement are trying to imposing a policy that does not correspond in any way to the longings and needs of the workers and oppressed.
On the October 2nd the guests of honor, those who advocates for the “broad front” policy were greeted with great contempt by the people at the foot of the stage reserved for speeches. That is, the people said a sound no to the politics of alliance with right wing politicians and parties. Ciro Gomes , Palinho da Força along with other “illustrious” guests received a strenuous booing when tried to speak to the presents on the act. The despite comes precisely from the fact that they are identified as scammers and the people will not allow alliance with that kind.
A growing number of activists from workers and youth backgrounds perceive the reactionary role of those who claim to be against Bolsonaro but support his policy such as privatization, reforms against civil servants, ineffective measures in the pandemic, etc. It is quite clear that their objective is to crash the movement as well as attack the former President Lula. The infiltration by these reactionary elements has been imposed from above, without the consultation of the base of the movement.
On the October 2nd there were many signs that showed how the supporters of the alliance with the so called democratic right wing, in reality the enemy of the working class, tried to control the public acts with an enormous apparatus. They spent a fortune on safe stages, quality sound systems and security personnel, besides they forbade marches and canceled acts in other states to prevent popular demonstration against the right wing.
Dozen people have seized the coordination of this giant movement against Bolsonaro, and they are ruling in spite of the demands of the people who really build up the movement. They enable heirs of bankers, scammers and all kind of neoliberal guardian body to congregate into a movement that is primarily against this. The bases can only make themselves heard when they rise up against the schemes set up by that summit. It’s time to say “enough!”. It is the workers, students, all oppressed sectors of the population who have to decide how to organize themselves, what their demands are, and who their allies are.
it is necessary to organize the population in neighborhoods and places of work and study. It is necessary to create fight committees and hold meetings and plenary sessions in all cities and in all states, to discuss and decide how the fight should go forward.
This movement has two fundamental demands: “Out with Bolsonaro” and “Lula for President”. This means the end of a neoliberal policy imposed on the people for the coup of 2016 and a government in favor of the population.
There is less than a year away from the elections and the campaign is already underway. In order to continue governing the bourgeoisie are planning introducing a new candidate, a maneuver that they refer as third way. This candidate is presented as an alternative in the face of the political polarization between Lula and Bolsonaro. The bourgeoisie are spending a great deal of effort to make their candidate launch. Their bets are on Joao Doria or Eduardo Leite, both from the traditional right wing party PSDB, who are trusted by bankers. Althought, in case their plans do not go accordingly, they will not hesitate to support Bolsonaro once again.
Lula is the only candidate of the left wing capable to defeat both Bolsonaro and the Third way neoliberal. Therefore, it is necessary and urgent that all leftist parties and organizations, from the workers and popular movement unconditionally defend Lula’s candidacy from now on.
It is necessary to draw up a program that for mobilization and elections. In this sense, the undersigned organizations and leaders call for a National assembly for “Fora Bolsonaro” (Out Bolsonaro) and Lula President (Lula for president), to gather in São Paulo, at the next 6th and 7th of November. The plenary will be open to the participation of all militants, trade unionists, leaders of social and popular movements, all class activism, and socialists. The objective is to debate the organization and directions of the movement and point out a perspective to advance in the achievement of the demands of all the exploited. A plenary to boost the campaign for Fora Bolsonaro and all related to the 2016 coup, for the workers’ demands in the face of the crisis and by Lula president, for a government of the workers.

No to the privatization of Correios (Mail service) and Eletrobras (Energy company)!
Re-nationalization of Petrobras (Petroleum company) under workers’ control!
No to Administrative Reform!
Agrarian reform with the expropriation of the latifundium!
